Who can join the LWV?
LWV Membership is open to all men and women.

Why join the LWV?

• Promote voter education on important issues, candidates, and the political process.
• Study current issues with other League members and advocate on these issues
• Network with people who share your interests and concerns at local League meetings, state League events, or online through LWVUS member-only lists.
• Learn about: civic education, community issues, our government, the political process, and more...
• Take advantage of an organization with a rich history and infrastructure and make your voice heard at the local, state, and national levels.

What are the dues? And why are there dues?
Membership Rates:

• Individual - $50
• Family - $75
• Student - $25

Your dues support the local, state, and national chapters of the LWV (respectively - LWV of Alachua County/Gainesville, LWV of Florida and LWV of the United States). The Local dues support educational programs of local issues, candidate forums, and voter outreach. The State dues support the state education and advocacy programs, state voter guides, a part-time executive director and a part-time lobbyist. The National dues support the national education and advocacy programs, an executive director and staff in our D.C. office. That's alot of education and advocacy for your dues!
