AUGUST 26, 2008 PRIMARY ELECTION RACES AND CANDIDATES

A Note About Florida Primary Elections:
Florida is a closed primary state. Only voters who are registered members of political parties may vote for their respective party's candidates in a primary election. However, if all candidates for an office have the same party affiliation and the winner will have no opposition in the general election, all qualified voters, regardless of party affiliation, may vote in the primary election for that office. At general elections, all voters receive the same ballot and may vote for any candidate or question on the ballot. If there are write-in candidates, a space will be left on the ballot where a write-in candidate's name may be written. (Excerpt taken from the Florida Division of Elections)
